Rx orders can take up to 2 weeks, in addition to shipping time, to process.

Proper lens care:
- When glasses are worn often, they tend to accumulate oil and debris. Be sure to use cool water to gently rinse the debris off your lenses prior to wiping them.
- Make sure you're using a clean microfiber or lint-free cloth (if the cleaning cloth has accumulated oil and debris, it's best to launder it prior to using it).
- Use the clean microfiber/lint-free cloth to gently dry your lenses. Avoid applying excessive pressure.
- Only store your glasses in a cool, dry place.

How do Avulux Migraine Glasses Work?
Blue, amber, and red lightwaves have been clinically shown to trigger and worsen migraine attacks.
A small portion of the green light spectrum has been clinically shown to reduce migraine headache pain intensity or keep it constant.
Avulux lenses precisely filter blue, amber, and red light while allowing a narrow band of green light through.
Avulux lenses have been a decade in the making and have gone through rigorous research and development and multiple independent clinical trials. Clinical studies performed with Avulux lenses show that by precisely filtering light, they may help people living with migraine.
Do Avulux lenses work for non-migraine light sensitivity?
Research was conducted at Harvard Medical School / Boston Children's Hospital and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The study used quantitative sensory testing with the Ocular Photosensitivity Analyzer (OPA) to objectively measure light discomfort thresholds in 16 healthy volunteers.
Avulux lenses significantly increased visual photosensitivity discomfort thresholds compared to clear control lenses (p=0.003). The light-filtering effect of Avulux lenses was independent of user expectation; thresholds increased equally whether or not participants expected the lenses to reduce light sensitivity (p=0.650), confirming the effect is driven by the lens technology, not placebo.
Avulux lenses were shown to help manage the impact of light by raising the threshold at which light causes visual discomfort.

What's the difference between Avulux, Avulux Adapt, and Avulux Atlas?
All three lenses deliver ~2x better light quality through Avulux precision filtering. Avulux is the everyday lens — worn indoors and outdoors for less intense sun. Avulux Adapt is a photochromic lens that automatically darkens outdoors and lightens indoors — ideal for people on the move who want one pair that does it all. Avulux Atlas is a polarized outdoor lens that eliminates glare from water, roads, and snow.
Which lens should I start with?
If you want one lens for everything, start with Avulux Adapt — it has the same filtration as our clinically proven Avulux lens indoors and automatically darkens when you go outside. If you're mostly indoors, the base Avulux lens is the lightest and most affordable. If you need dedicated outdoor/glare protection, add Avulux Atlas.
Can I wear Avulux Atlas indoors?
Avulux Atlas is designed for outdoor use only. At ~22% VLT, it's too dark for comfortable indoor wear, and the polarization can interfere with LCD screens and digital displays. For indoor protection, choose Avulux or Avulux Adapt.
How does Avulux Adapt work?
Avulux Adapt uses photochromic technology — molecules in the lens that react to UV light. When you step outside, the lens automatically darkens to provide enhanced protection (up to 95% of harmful light blocked). When you return indoors, it quickly fades back to standard Avulux clarity. No switching glasses needed.
Are all three lenses clinically proven?
The base Avulux filtering technology that's built into all three lenses has been clinically validated at the highest standard of testing — independent, double-blind, randomized, and placebo-controlled. Avulux Adapt adds photochromic adaptation, and Avulux Atlas adds polarization, both layered on top of the proven Avulux filtration. Only the base Avulux filter has gone through clinical validation (Avulux and Avulux Adapt in its non-activated state).
Do I need more than one lens?
Many people find that a single Avulux or Avulux Adapt lens covers their daily needs. If you spend significant time in bright outdoor environments (water sports, snow), adding Avulux Atlas as a dedicated outdoor lens provides glare reduction that non-polarized lenses can't match.
What's the return policy?
You have 60 days from the ship date to return non-custom Avulux glasses. Custom orders (Rx, readers, Avulux AR-coated, and send-in-your-frame) are non-returnable due to their personalized nature.
Non-prescription Avulux Adapt or Avulux Atlas lenses in an Avulux frame are returnable within 60 days of the ship date.
Can I get these lenses in my own frames?
Yes. The "Avulux in Your Frames" option lets you send in your own frames and we'll install Avulux lenses. This is available for all three lens types. You may also visit an Avulux Authorized Provider locally. Note: send-in-your-frame orders are custom and non-returnable.
