Avulux
Every Avulux lens precisely filters harmful blue, amber, and red light while allowing soothing green light through — delivering 2x better light quality than neutral light filtering lenses to help people living with migraine and light sensitivity.

Clinically Proven · Indoor / Everyday
The world's only clinically proven lens for people living with migraine & light sensitivity.
Not all light filtering is equal. The result of over a decade of rigorous research and development, Avulux Migraine & Light Sensitivity Lenses deliver 2x better light quality than conventional light management lenses — precisely filtering harmful lightwaves while preserving soothing green light.

Photochromic · Indoor + Outdoor
Avulux comfort, inside and out.
In its inactive state, Avulux Adapt matches the spectral curve of our clinically proven Avulux lens: filtering harmful blue, amber, and red light while allowing soothing green light through.
When exposed to UV light outdoors, photochromic molecules within the lens activate, causing the lens to darken, then quickly return to standard Avulux clarity indoors. In addition to 2x better light quality indoors, you'll get near-total protection from harmful light outdoors when the lens is fully activated.

Polarized · Outdoor
Outdoor vision, the Avulux way.
Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, Avulux Atlas lenses deliver superior comfort, safety, and visual clarity in intense sunlight.
Atlas minimizes squinting and visual fatigue during outdoor activities by blocking harsh reflected light from surfaces like water, roads, snow, and glass.
Atlas delivers 2x better light quality than a neutral polarized lens — precisely filtering harmful migraine-triggering lightwaves while reducing glare.

Not All Light is Created Equal
Every Avulux lens precisely filters the wavelengths most associated with light sensitivity — while letting beneficial green light through. Here's what that looks like.
Blocks harmful blue light
Targets the 480nm wavelength most linked to light sensitivity.
Preserves beneficial green light
Research suggests green light may have a soothing effect.
Blocks harmful amber light
Filters the 590nm range, another wavelength tied to light sensitivity.
Shaded regions: blue = harmful blue light, green = beneficial green light, amber = harmful amber light. Chart shows the percentage of light each lens allows through at every wavelength.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Avulux, Avulux Adapt, and Avulux Atlas lenses?
Avulux, Avulux Adapt, and Avulux Atlas are three Avulux migraine and light sensitivity lens options designed for different lighting needs and preferences.
All Auvlux lenses use Avulux’s precision light-filtering approach, but they’re configured for different use cases so you can choose the best fit for your day-to-day triggers.
The base Avulux lens is intended for indoor use and overcast days outdoors.
The Avulux Adapt lens is the most well-rounded. In its deactivated state, the Avulux Adapt lens contains the same filtration properties as the base Avulux lens. When the photochromic molecules in the Adapt lens are exposed to UV outdoors, the lens darkens and filters over 90% of both harmful blue and amber light while delivering 2x better light quality than a neutral sunglass.
The Avulux Atlas lens is polarized and intended for outdoor use only. The Atlas lens delivers 2x better light quality by selectively filtering harmful light while allowing soothing light to pass. Avulux Atlas lenses are a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts and in situations with lots of reflected light (water, snow, light pavement, etc).
What does success with Avulux look like?
Migraine and light sensitivity can be complex and success can be measured in many ways.
Avulux was made to help people with migraine and light sensitivity get through their days without having to isolate in a dark room.
Certain wavelengths of light have been shown to worsen migraine headache pain and even incite migraine attacks. Avulux precisely filters light at certain areas in the visible light spectrum, they can be worn indoors or outdoors without distorting how you perceive color, and may help people living with migraine.
Whether it's being able to spend your time with family and friends, being able to work under harsh lighting, reducing the impact of light on your daily activities, or walking outside without fear of light, we recognize all of these as successes with Avulux.
Avulux lenses come in multiple options (including Adapt and Atlas) designed for different environments and needs.
We offer a 60 day money-back guarantee so you can be sure you're happy with your Avulux glasses.
What if I don't currently wear glasses? What if I wear contact lenses?
No problem! If you don't wear prescription glasses or if you wear contact lenses, we offer non-prescription Avulux glasses through our shop.
What if I wear prescription glasses?
Customers in the USA can purchase Avulux Rx on Avulux.com. Choose your favorite frames on the shop page to get started!
Customers in Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand can find an Avulux Authorized Provider on our store locator.
Customers outside of the above countries can shop our Fit Over frames.
Can you place Avulux lenses into my own frames?
Yes! See Avulux in Your Frames or visit an Avulux Authorized Provider.
Why shouldn't I just wear typical sunglasses?
Wearing typical sunglasses indoors can dark adapt your eyes. Consistently wearing sunglasses can significantly prevent light across the visible spectrum from entering your eyes which can make you even more sensitive to light. This increase in light sensitivity could more easily trigger migraine symptoms and increase light-triggered pain.
If you're currently wearing sunglasses, or dark glasses, indoors, wear the Avulux or Avulux Adapt lens for at least 2-3 weeks to allow your eyes to adapt to the lighter tint indoors.
Can I wear Avulux continuously? Indoors or outdoors?
Yes. However, Avulux lenses are not recommended for driving at night due to their precision filtration properties.
You can wear the Avulux or Adapt lenses continuously, whether you're indoors or outdoors. Wearing Avulux or Adapt will not dark adapt your eyes (you will not become more light sensitive by wearing these lenses).
We encourage you to wear your glasses during any triggering activities like extended screen time, when exposed to harsh artificial light, or even under sunlight. If not worn continuously, be sure to wear your Avulux or Adapt lenses as soon as you feel any migraine or light sensitivity symptoms.
Avoid wearing the Avulux Atlas polarized lenses indoors, as they're intended for outdoor use.
What's the best way to clean and take care of my glasses?
Read our care instructions here.
Is Avulux covered by my insurance, FSA, or HSA?
While we're unable to bill your insurer for your purchase, you may be able to request reimbursement for your Avulux purchase from your insurer.
For customers with an HSA or FSA card, you may use it during checkout. If your payment is rejected, contact your provider to have them add Avulux as an approved vendor.
We'd be happy to provide any documentation you may need to request reimbursement from your insurer.
How do Avulux Migraine Glasses Work?
Blue, amber, and red wavelengths of light have been clinically shown to incite and worsen migraine attacks.
A small portion of the green light spectrum has been clinically shown to reduce migraine headache pain intensity or keep it constant.
Avulux precisely filters blue, amber, and red light while allowing a narrow band of green light through.
Avulux lenses have gone through 8 years of research and development and multiple independent clinical trials. Clinical studies performed with Avulux migraine glasses show that by precisely filtering light, they may help people living with migraine.
