Life savers! I wear mine everyday and the results are AMAZING!
All I can say is, "Wow!". I have autism and therefore have extremely high light sensitivity and suffer from dreadful migraines as a result. I am also prone to migraines. I've looked all over for a pair of glasses that can help with the pain I experience on a daily basis and sadly there are no reliable glasses that I know of for sale in the UK. So I turned to the US and found Avulux. I can honestly say I noticed a difference the first day I was wearing them. I was able to not only be in a relatively bright room, but also to go about daily tasks in the bright winter sun without suffering a migraine attack. I've been wearing them every single day (regardless of how light or dull it is outside) and they've significantly helped me cut down on the amount of painkillers and medication I've had to take due to migraines. 10/10. I'd recommend to anyone who suffers from light sensitivity and migraine, and wants to improve their quality of life.
TLDR: I love these glasses. They've seriously improved my quality of life. If you experience light-triggered migraines, I urge you to give these a try. My usage: for the past two months I've been wearing these daily, whenever looking at digital screens, and they've been 100% effective at preventing and even terminating migraine headaches. They affect my color perception a little, so when I need to make a graphic design color choice I peak over the tops of the frames for a moment, but mostly I forget about the difference. I haven't tried them in bright sunlight. My migraine background: I've been experiencing light-triggered migraine headaches for the past 8 years; for the first few years I experienced only one or two migraines per year, each characterized by light sensitivity, severe headache, and vomiting following all-day sun exposure; for the past three years I have been working at a computer 8 - 12 hours per day and have experienced screen-triggered migraines ranging from mild to moderate headache at least once per week, with several multi-day events per year and one severe event last year; I have been prescribed Sumatriptan but found it to be only moderately effective for me; and then for several months this winter, my headaches became daily and all-day occurrences. I began wearing Avulux glasses two months ago and I haven't had a single headache while wearing them. Several times I accidentally sat down to work without them, felt a headache begin after ~40 minutes, put on the glasses, and soon felt the headache disappear. Better than I dared to dream! The only challenge was finding the frame that looked most natural on me. I first tried the Lilu in red, but with the rosey lens tint and my light skin and hair, that look was pretty intense on me; I then tried the Bli and Lilu in clear. I like the attitude of the Lilu shape so I've settled on those in clear and I've grown happy with the look. I'd love to see a few more neutral colors and/or wire frame options in the future. The tinted lens do catch people by surprise! but my colleagues quickly got used to them and even seem to enjoy the look. The first time I wore the clear Lilus on a Zoom meeting, a colleague sent me a video of Matthew McConaughey describing his rose-colored glasses at the end of an interview on Good Morning America: "not too shady [so as] to be inconsiderate, but just shady enough to *bring it down a little bit*" — super suave. Works for me.
I didn’t know what to expect from these glasses but as someone with a neurological condition that results in light sensitivity and frequent headaches, these have been game changers. I wear them almost all the time and I think they have greatly reduced my need for Advil thus far. I highly recommended the investment if you suffer frequently or daily with light sensitivity or headaches.
Finally Relief! <3
I suffer from daily chronic migraine with aura, Alice in Wonderland Effect and break out seizures. I have tried several different glasses through out the years (Axon, Theraspecs....) but have found that the Avulux lenses work so much better for me! They filter all the painful light wavelengths (white, blue, amber, and red light) that leads to my Photophobia. I am able to be part of everyday life without squinting as much and needing to go hide in a dark room. I enjoy that unlike other migraine glasses the lenses are color neutral! Due to this I can wear them at night and not have to struggle to see in a darker environment or not like how I look in pictures. I wear mine from the second I wake up to the min I go to sleep for as much prevention I can get! These glasses have really helped improve my day to day life and I will be a happy repeat customer!!! Also the CS team is super helpful and responsive with any questions or issues you have! All around a great company! I recommend you trying them for sure if you have acute migraine or use for prevention like me. So happy I was able to find these and they make a difference in my everyday life! <3
